STL Viewer
View STL files directly in your browser, without the need for additional software
Instructions
Select an STL file, and the viewer will automatically display the rendered file. Use the mouse wheel to zoom in or out of the object. To rotate around the object, click and drag the mouse to the right or left. If you do this while holding the Ctrl key, you can move the object in any direction.
What is the STL format?
The STL format (Stereolithography or Standard Tessellation Language) is a type of file used to represent three-dimensional models, mainly in the context of 3D printing. It was developed by 3D Systems in 1987 and has become one of the most common formats for 3D data exchange in additive manufacturing.
An STL file describes the surface of a three-dimensional object using a collection of triangles (facets). Each triangle is defined by three vertices, each with coordinates in three-dimensional space (x, y, z). These triangles form a mesh that approximates the shape of the object's surface. This can have disadvantages, as precision may be lost when representing curved surfaces.
STL files do not contain information about colors, textures, or materials. They only describe the geometry of the object.
